CHILD THERAPY
Child Therapy (Ages 3 - 10)
Is your child struggling with big feelings? Do they go from 0-100 without you understanding what’s causing the behaviors? Are they stressed, struggling with perfectionism, sad, withdrawn or angry? Is your family going through a time of transition- a move, loss of a loved one or divorce? Has your child experienced a traumatic event or been the victim of bullying or abuse? If you answered yes to any of these, play therapy can address all of these issues and more!
Child-Centered Play Therapy helps children ages 3–10 express and work through their feelings using play—their natural way of communicating. In a warm, supportive space, children feel understood and build confidence, leading to healthier behavior and emotional well-being.
Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT)
What is Play Therapy?
Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT) is an evidenced-based, developmentally appropriate way of treating children who are struggling to express or regulate their emotions, are engaging in unhealthy or disruptive behaviors, or are struggling in school, at home or with other life changes.
Children naturally express their thoughts and feelings through play. In CCPT, toys are carefully selected to allow your child to share what’s going on for them in a way that feels comfortable and safe.
In sessions with your child, it is my goal to create a warm and accepting environment where they feel understood and validated. Over time, as a result of this trusting relationship, I have witnessed clients present as more confident, joyful and better able to express and manage their emotions.
